Save food and help people together

In the last two weeks, there have been many new faces in our volunteer team. No matter whether they are new or old, all of us have a giving and kind heart. It is really inspiring to work together for the purpose of saving food and helping others!
Last week, volunteers took part in the collection and distribution of bread and meal box sharing action in six districts, namely Fo Tan, Tai Po, Fanling, To Kwa Wan, Hung Hom and Causeway Bay. A total of 583 servings of bread and 46 meal boxes were collected weighing 111.69 kgs in total. The total number of beneficiaries was 312.
Here were the results of each district:
Fo Tan: On Saturday, 94 servings of bread weighing 10.72 kgs were collected; On Sunday, 79 servings of bread weighing 14.13 kgs were collected. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners and members of the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 91.
Tai Po: On Saturday, 90 servings of bread weighing 10.54 kgs were collected; On Sunday, 71 servings of bread weighing 5.09 kgs were collected. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners, scavengers, the homeless and members of the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 76.
Fanling: On Tuesday, 103 servings of bread weighing 15.29 kgs were collected; On Friday, 84 servings of bread weighing 9.80 kgs were collected. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners, security guards, scavengers and the homeless. The total number of beneficiaries was 66.
To Kwa Wan: On Wednesday, 48 sandwiches (included in the total bread weight) weighing 9.44 kgs were collected; On Sunday, 14 servings of bread weighing 0.99 kgs were collected. All servings of bread were distributed to the cleaners, the homeless and members of the neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 33.
Hung Hom: On Friday, 25 meal boxes weighing 24.38 kgs were collected. All meal boxes were distributed to the cleaners, scavengers and members of the To Kwa Wan neighbourhood. The total number of beneficiaries was 25.
Causeway Bay: On Friday, 21 meal boxes weighing 11.76 kgs were collected. All meal boxes were distributed to the homeless and members of the Victoria Park and Tin Hau neighbourhoods.The total number of beneficiaries was 21.
